Samsung’s July Unpacked Could Bring Galaxy Watch 9, Fold 8 and Long-Awaited Smart Glasses

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event is shaping up to be one of the company’s biggest launches in recent years, with multiple new devices reportedly set to make their debut.

According to a report from Korean publication Seoul Economic Daily, Samsung is expected to hold its next Galaxy Unpacked showcase on July 22 in London — matching earlier rumors surrounding the event’s timing and location. However, the latest report suggests Samsung could unveil far more than just its next-generation foldable smartphones.

Among the products rumored to appear are the new Galaxy Z Fold 8, updated Galaxy Watch models, and Samsung’s long-anticipated smart glasses project, currently referred to as “Galaxy Glasses.”

The report claims Samsung’s smart glasses will run on Google’s Android XR platform, highlighting the growing partnership between Samsung and Google in the extended reality space. Unlike traditional AR glasses, however, these wearable devices reportedly will not include a built-in display. Instead, the glasses are said to focus on AI-powered interactions through integrated microphones, speakers, and cameras.

With this setup, the Galaxy Glasses could function more like an AI companion device, allowing users to interact with virtual assistants using voice commands, audio feedback, and real-world image recognition rather than displaying visual overlays directly in front of the user.

Samsung has yet to officially confirm the event date or reveal any of the products expected to appear, but if the report proves accurate, the July Unpacked presentation could mark a major expansion of Samsung’s ecosystem beyond smartphones and smartwatches into AI-focused wearable technology.

Details surrounding the Galaxy Watch 9 remain scarce for now, as the report did not reveal any specific upgrades or features. Still, considering Samsung’s usual release cycle, the smartwatch lineup is widely expected to appear alongside the company’s next wave of flagship devices at the upcoming Unpacked event.

Beyond the wearable announcements, Samsung is also rumored to be preparing a major refresh of its foldable smartphone lineup. Current expectations point toward the debut of three foldable models: the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and a larger foldable device reportedly referred to as the “Wide Fold.”

The rumored Wide Fold model could represent Samsung’s answer to the growing competition in the foldable segment, especially with Apple’s long-rumored foldable iPhone said to still be in development. While exact specifications remain unclear, the device is expected to feature a wider display format aimed at improving multitasking and media consumption.

If the leaks turn out to be accurate, Samsung’s July Unpacked showcase could become one of the company’s most ambitious hardware launches yet, covering foldables, wearables, and AI-powered smart glasses all in a single event.
