According to supply chain sources, Apple is preparing a fresh standout finish for its Pro lineup — and this time, it’s not another bright tone.
The headline colour for 2026 is expected to be Dark Cherry, a deep, wine-inspired shade that leans more premium than flashy. While earlier rumours pointed to a generic “dark red,” this version appears more refined, trading the bold punch of last year’s Cosmic Orange for something subtler and more mature.
It won’t scream for attention — but it will stand out in a different way.
As with previous cycles, this new colour is likely to replace older finishes, meaning Cosmic Orange could be phased out entirely.
Other Colours Still in Play
Beyond Dark Cherry, Apple is reportedly testing a few additional finishes for the Pro models.
One is a Light Blue tone, similar to softer hues seen in recent base iPhones. Another is a dark grey option, offering a more understated look. A classic silver variant is also said to be in development, continuing Apple’s tradition of offering at least one clean, neutral finish.
That said, nothing is final yet. With production still months away, Apple could easily drop or adjust some of these options before launch — something it has done in the past.

In terms of design, don’t expect a dramatic overhaul.
Leaked CAD files suggest the iPhone 18 Pro models will stick closely to the current design language, with only subtle refinements. One of the more noticeable changes could be a smaller Dynamic Island, freeing up more usable screen space.
There are also hints of minor tweaks around the rear camera area, possibly tightening the gap between the glass panel and the camera module. While it’s unclear if this will make it to final production, it aligns with Apple’s ongoing push for tighter build precision and cleaner finishes.
Foldable iPhone Goes a Different Direction
Alongside the Pro models, Apple’s foldable iPhone is also starting to take shape — and its design philosophy appears quite different.
Instead of bold or playful colours, the foldable is expected to lean heavily into minimalist tones, with options like silver, white, and a darker blue shade. The focus here seems to be more on elegance than expression.
Design-wise, the device is rumoured to unfold into a form factor similar to an iPad mini, complete with dual rear cameras and multiple selfie cameras for both inner and outer displays. Impressively, it could be as thin as 4.7mm when opened, making it one of the slimmest foldables yet.
Launch Timeline
The iPhone 18 Pro lineup is still on track for a September launch, while the foldable model may arrive slightly later depending on production readiness.
Meanwhile, other models — including a standard iPhone 18, a new “Air” variant, and a possible budget version — are expected to follow sometime in 2027.
