The 2026 Honda City facelift has officially made its debut in Thailand not long after its first appearance in India, bringing refreshed styling and updated variants for both the sedan and hatchback models. Unlike the Indian-market reveal, Thailand’s launch also includes the City Hatchback facelift, as the hatchback version is not offered in India.

Honda Thailand has currently opened pre-orders for the updated City range ahead of its official launch scheduled for July 1, 2026, with bookings available until June 30. Both the sedan and hatchback are offered in four variants consisting of the 1.0 Turbo S CVT, e:HEV V, e:HEV SV, and the range-topping e:HEV RS.

Interestingly, Thailand’s lineup differs from India’s engine options. While the Indian-spec City continues with a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter petrol engine producing 121 PS and 145 Nm paired with either a CVT or 6-speed manual transmission, the Thai-market base variant uses Honda’s smaller but more powerful 1.0-liter VTEC Turbo engine.
The three-cylinder turbocharged unit displaces 988cc and delivers 122 PS at 5,500 rpm alongside 173 Nm of torque between 2,000 and 4,500 rpm. Power is sent to the front wheels through a CVT gearbox, and the engine is compatible with E20 fuel.

For buyers seeking better fuel efficiency, the remaining variants come equipped with Honda’s e:HEV hybrid system. This setup combines a 1.5-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder petrol engine producing 98 PS and 127 Nm with an electric motor rated at 109 PS and 253 Nm. The hybrid system is supported by a 1.0 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and paired with an E-CVT transmission driving the front wheels.
With Honda already rolling out the facelifted City in both India and Thailand within a short period, attention now turns to Malaysia. The current Honda City and City Hatchback remain strong sellers locally, but the latest update could hint that a Malaysian launch may not be too far away. The question now is whether Malaysian buyers prefer the cleaner design of the current model or the sharper new facelift introduced for 2026.
