GWM Malaysia<\/strong> has officially introduced the new Tank 300 HEV<\/strong> to the local market, priced at RM259,800 <\/strong>excluding insurance. The hybrid off-roader sits RM9,800 above the standard petrol-powered Tank 300, which currently retails at RM250,000.<\/p>\n\n\n

Powering the Tank 300 HEV is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 245 hp and 380 Nm of torque. The engine works together with a hybrid system integrated into a nine-speed automatic transmission, adding an electric motor that contributes an additional 106 hp and 268 Nm. Energy is supplied by a 1.67 kWh battery pack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Combined system output stands at an impressive 346 hp and 648 Nm, sent to a four-wheel-drive system. GWM claims the hybrid SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km\/h in 8.1 seconds before reaching a top speed of 180 km\/h. Compared to the standard Tank 300, the HEV version gains an extra 126 hp and 268 Nm.<\/p>\n\n\n

Despite adopting hybrid technology, the Tank 300 HEV retains the rugged off-road capabilities of its non-hybrid sibling. It comes equipped with multiple terrain modes including Normal, Eco, Sport, Snow, Mud, Sand, and 4L mode. Other off-road functions include crawl control and tank turn assist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SUV maintains the same approach, breakover, and departure angles as the regular model at 33 degrees, 23 degrees, and 34 degrees respectively, alongside 224 mm of ground clearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visually, the Tank 300 HEV remains largely identical to the standard version, although the hybrid model rides on smaller 17-inch alloy wheels fitted with all-terrain tyres. Exterior equipment includes automatic LED headlights with auto high beam, LED fog lamps, rain-sensing wipers, fixed side steps, a sunroof, and LED taillights.<\/p>\n\n\n

Inside, the hybrid variant gains several upgrades over the standard Tank 300. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto now come standard, unlike the non-hybrid version which still requires a wired connection. The HEV also adds fully automatic window operation with jam protection for all windows, while the regular model limits those features to the driver\u2019s side only.<\/p>\n\n\n

One of the standout additions is a fully automatic parking assist system capable of handling parking manoeuvres with minimal driver input. The Tank 300 HEV also supports connected smart app functionality, allowing owners to remotely monitor vehicle information such as tyre pressure, fuel level, battery status, doors, windows, and vehicle location. Users can additionally control selected functions remotely, including the air-conditioning system, seat ventilation, and sunroof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other cabin highlights include dual 12.3-inch displays for the instrument cluster and infotainment system, a nine-speaker Infinity audio setup, dual-zone climate control with PM2.5 filtration and N95 air filter, ambient lighting with 64 colour options, Nappa leather upholstery, wireless charging, and powered front seats with ventilation, massage, memory, and lumbar support functions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the safety front, the Tank 300 HEV comes equipped with six airbags, slightly fewer than the seven airbags offered in the non-hybrid model due to the omission of the far-side airbag. The SUV also features a comprehensive ADAS package that includes adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane change assist, rear cross traffic alert, traffic sign recognition, intelligent cruise assist, and a panoramic camera system with transparent chassis view.<\/p>\n\n\n

The new hybrid off-roader is available in Crystal Black, Pearl White, and Sand Beige. Buyers will also receive five years of free scheduled maintenance covering both parts and labour, alongside five years of complimentary Level 2 telematics services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GWM Malaysia is additionally offering a lifetime engine and transmission warranty for first-hand private owners, plus an eight-year or 180,000 km warranty for the hybrid battery system.
