Audi <\/strong>has officially pulled the covers off the cabin of its upcoming Q9 flagship SUV<\/strong>, and it\u2019s clear the brand is pushing its famous \u201cVorsprung durch Technik\u201d philosophy in a very different direction. Instead of focusing purely on horsepower or driving dynamics, the new Q9 puts the spotlight firmly on technology, digital luxury, and passenger experience.<\/p>\n\n\n

Set to replace the aging Audi Q7 as the brand\u2019s largest SUV, the Q9 is designed to feel less like a traditional family car and more like a high-tech luxury lounge on wheels. Audi says modern premium buyers now expect their vehicles to deliver an experience that rivals smart homes, and the Q9 appears built exactly around that idea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside, the dashboard is dominated by a triple-screen setup stretching across the front cabin. One display handles the digital driver cluster, another controls the main infotainment system, while a third screen is dedicated to the front passenger. Audi has yet to confirm display sizes or software details, but industry expectations point toward a next-generation AI-enhanced infotainment platform with more intelligent voice controls and predictive features.<\/p>\n\n\n

Practicality still plays a major role despite the futuristic cabin design. The Q9 arrives standard with a seven-seat 2+3+2 configuration, and Audi says all three second-row seats can fit child seats simultaneously \u2014 a detail clearly aimed at large families. Every seat gets partial electric adjustment, while the third-row seats can fold electronically at the push of a button to free up extra cargo space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For buyers wanting a more executive-style experience, Audi will also offer a six-seat layout featuring individual captain chairs in the second row. The setup transforms the cabin into a proper luxury cruiser, complete with ventilation functions and comfort levels Audi claims are inspired by airline business class seating.<\/p>\n\n\n

One of the Q9\u2019s biggest talking points is its new powered door system. For the first time on an Audi production vehicle, the SUV features fully electric doors that can open and close through the myAudi app, the infotainment system, the brake pedal, or even automatically via seatbelt interaction. To avoid awkward parking-lot accidents, the doors use surround sensors and obstacle detection to stop opening if another car, cyclist, or object is too close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The luxury-focused theme continues overhead with a massive panoramic roof measuring around 1.5 square metres. The glass features nine independently adjustable opacity zones, allowing passengers to darken specific sections when needed. Audi also says the roof blocks over 99.5% of UV radiation and automatically turns opaque when the vehicle is parked for additional privacy.<\/p>\n\n\n

Higher-spec variants take things even further with integrated LED lighting built directly into the panoramic roof. Around 84 LEDs can illuminate the glass in up to 30 different colours, synchronising with the vehicle\u2019s ambient lighting themes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Audi\u2019s new full-width \u201cInteraction Light\u201d system also plays a major role in the cabin atmosphere. The LED strip stretches across the dashboard and door panels, providing visual alerts and interactive animations. When paired with the upgraded Bang & Olufsen 4D audio system, the lighting can even pulse and react to music in real time, while seat-mounted actuators allow passengers to physically feel bass vibrations through the seats.<\/p>\n\n\n

Material quality has also received major attention. Buyers can choose between finishes such as alpaca wool, Dinamica microfibre, or fine Nappa leather, combined with trims ranging from natural ash wood to carbon fibre. Audi has also reduced glossy surfaces throughout the cabin, replacing them with matte and textured materials to minimise fingerprint smudges and reflections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the tech practicality side, the redesigned centre console includes dual Qi2.2 wireless charging pads alongside 100W USB-C ports powerful enough to charge laptops and tablets. In the rear, Audi has introduced a new aluminium cargo rail system with sliding anchors and hooks to make securing luggage easier during long-distance trips.<\/p>\n\n\n

Although Audi has yet to reveal full powertrain specifications or performance figures, the Q9 is expected to sit at the very top of the brand\u2019s SUV lineup when it officially debuts later in Summer 2026.
